AlterFestA - Our history
The AlterFestA is one of the few musical realities more affirmed of the south Italy.
It had been organizing for 30 years by the Circle A.R.C.I. "ALTER" of Cisternino (Brindisi), surely one of the few cultural demonstrations and exhibitions that can vindicate, with healthy pride, not only its own autonomy from every power, but also the total extraneousness to the "aim of profit" (also "disguised"), the free use of the cultural and spectacular proposals and the really substantial self-financing.
This proud claim has the meaning to confirm the conditions of base that make
to move this demonstration
and that feed the "heat" that preserve "hot" the "spirits" of the organizers, also after as years and without the "stimulus" of "material" incentives.
As it regards the public contribution supporting the growth and the diffusion of the activities and the cultural demonstrations from the single and in partnership citizens, as A.R.C.I. "ALTER" Association we have always sustained and we sustain that this contribution must primarily be addresses to the creation of structures, equipments and services to make (with regulation) available to the citizens , single or in partnership (in true associations, really without aim of profit and not, as it often happens, fake).
The AlterFestA, that has built, during so many years, a partner-cultural and spectacular proposal of high-level, recognized from the public and from the so-called ones "employees" and comforted by the presence and by the attention of thousand and thousand of people, it doesn't give up sustaining these positions that it keeps on holding correct. However it observe, with great regret, that its positions are not shared and practised by the great majority of the institutions and the public corporate bodies.
In fact these institutions continue fearless to finance cultural demonstrations and show (what often of cultural and spectacular they have well little) with huge donations of public money. The public contribution in monetary form in fact (particular cases excepted and limited that must be individualized, discussed, justified and rigorously controled), unlike that "material" (centers, stages, fittings, services, etc.) is very easily lent to abuses of business nature besides making very difficult effective controls. These same corporate bodies and institutions continue both the old practice of the so-called ones "rain financings" (for "to hold someone good" with few changes), both the other old practice to privilege, with huge resources, the proper ones "supporters": And for the one who is out of the "choirs", bitter cabbages!
Said that, there's a lack of structures, equipments and services of public nature and
a huge flow in exit of public money that, in the majority of
the cases, besides resulting a great waste, doesn't leave any "sediment" from which to restart
a growth.
If almost obsessively we return on these thematic ones it is not for one connatural tendency of ours to the lamentation, but simply because we believe that to favor the cultural growth of the citizens must mean, in particular way, to escape the more possible to every form of conditioning.
The AlterFestA (perhaps the demonstration more longevas in Puglia and in the whole South, having reached the 30° edition) also heavily suffering for this persisting situation, doesn't surrender. It is putting all to keep on living, to keep on representing a hope for all those people that sincerely still believe that moments of strong cultural and civil growth can be built, with the share and the socialization, in the furrow of the values, not tractable, of a solidale liberty, of the peace, of the ecology and of the social justice.
